I hesitate to post this, for fear of sounding like a spammer, but there
are folks out there who like to hear about how domes are doing in
gaining acceptance among owners and builders. For these folks:
Oregon Dome won the 1997 award for Excellence in Model Home Design
Contest, sponsored by Building Systems Magazine and the Building Systems
Councils of the National Association of Homebuilders. We won in the
panelized home category, competing against square/rectangle and other
panelizers of homes. The home we won an award for is a 35' diameter
dome on a 5' riser wall and a full basement.
We received a very nice award to hang on the wall. An article with
pictures will appear in the Jan/Feb issue of Building Systems Magazine
(unfortunately not found at most news stands). I don't know if there
will be any web available content, but if I find some, I'll link to it
