There are readily available solar-powered electric fence chargers that are
more than powerful enough to deliver a shock sufficient to enrage an ant.
This sounds like a great solution to me, provided it does work and doesn't
just kill a generation of workers, leaving the queen and enough staff to
rebuild the colony. Even if so, you can leave these fence chargers in place
for years, if necessary.
(There's a certain poetic justice, too, to a solution that uses the ants'
own aggressive nature against them.)
